Local London Work and Health Programme Pioneer is a fully-funded specialist employment support service that helps unemployed people move into work.

Whether you are looking for a full-time or part-time role, self-employment, your first job after education or want to get back into work after family commitments, we can help you take that first step. You do not need any qualifications or experience.

What is Work and Health Programme Pioneer?


Maximus provides fully-funded personalised job support to help unemployed people in North, East and South East London find and stay in work. We deliver this service on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions.


Our one-to-one support with a dedicated Employment Specialist will help you:

Who is Work and Health Programme Pioneer for?

 

We support people in North, East and South East London who are not in work, education or training, and face one or more of the following barriers to employment:

  • Disability or health condition recognised under the Equality Act 2010
  • Ex-offender or offender
  • Carer, ex carer or care leaver
  • Homeless, or dependent on drugs/alcohol
  • Former member or partner of current/former member of His Majesty’s Armed Forces
  • Member of His Majesty’s Armed Forces reserves
  • Refugee, Afghan resettler or Ukraine evacuee
  • Young person in, or at risk of being in, a gang or serious violence.

You must also:

  • Be over 18 and live in Barking and Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, or Waltham Forest 
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • Have access to public funds (such as benefit payments)
  • Not have participated in another Work and Health Programme
  • Not be in any type of employment including zero-hour contracts, or about to start work.

Eligibility and referrals are at the discretion of the Department for Work and Pensions.
